We had a very successful screening of The Arthur Wharton Story Documentary at The Void Film Theatre at Sheffield Hallam University.

The Film Theatre was packed to capacity as a group of young people presented impromptu poetry performances  inspired by Arthur Wharton's life.

The screening included a film about FURD's work in schools across South Yorkshire and was attended by the Lord Mayor and footballers Kim Grant and Brendon Batson.

Along with 10 year old Louis Affen and writer Phil Vasili, Kim Grant was also part of the Q & A discussion afterwards.

Feature Documentary - Salute (2008)

Just seen Salute the feature documentary about the protest made by African-American athletes Tommie Smith, John Carlos and Australian Peter Norman, during the 1968 Olympics in Mexico.  Blown away by the sacrifice that these guys made in the name of human rights!

What came out during the panel discussion afterwards, was the real need for us all to find out about struggles in the past because issues around human rights affect all of us whatever our background.

Feature Documentary - Marley (2011)

Attended a screening of director Kevin McDonald's excellent documentary about Robert Nester Marley yesterday at the Showroom Cinema.

I was on the discussion panel afterwards and we had a great chat about what Bob Marley, both music and man, mean to the World today.

I do recommend that you go see the movie!
